According with Japanese scientists there's a genetic explanation for impulse and "need-to-have" consumerism which is produced by a body enzyme.
A "Neophiliac" is a person who is genetically more predisposed than others to wanting the newest toys, gadgets and fashions. The term "Neophilia", the love for everything new or novel, is already on Wikipedia.

I suppose neophiliacs could come from any part of the social spectrum. Is this a large group of whom Early Adopters are only a small part (i.e. neophiliacs with large disposable incomes)?
