"Hans Brinker" (again)

Client: Hans Brinker Budget Hotel
Agency: KesselsKramer, Amsterdam
I really love their honesty and sense of irony. Never slept there and probably you'll never find me in Hans Brinker sharing the loo with other room mates.
Nevertheless I have to confess, the couple of times I went to Amsterdam I've checked the place out. It must be the hidden power of advertising.
"Food for thought"
"The power of mass creativity is about what the rise of the likes of Wikipedia and Youtube, Linux and Craigslist means for the way we organise ourselves, not just in digital businesses but in schools and hospitals, cities and mainstream corporations. My argument is that these new forms of mass, creative collaboration announce the arrival of a society in which participation will be the key organising idea rather than consumption and work. People want to be players not just spectators, part of the action, not on the sidelines." -- Charles Leadbeater, "We-think"

"Mark Lives in IKEA"

We've already had a wedding inside IKEA, now we have Mark living in. One day perhaps we'll have a funeral or a birth. Who knows?

"Food for thought"

"The consumer's problem has been that the main customer for phone handsets has been not the user, but the mobile networks that market them. Their interest lies in peddling devices that access new services and make new business."

"All creative people need something to rebel against, it's what gives their lives excitement, and it's creative people who make the client's lives exciting."-- Mr. Paul Arden

"Food for thought"
"The options for how a brand can communicate are so many that you need someone to make sense of it all. That’s the preserve of the planning department — to guide us through a complicated world and do things with a proper sense of ‘why’ rather than just to be trendy and new."
- Guy Murphy, JWT’s global planning director in The Economic Times
"University slogans"
"Impactful or not, does a college really need a motto? Quick: What's the slogan of your alma mater? An extremely informal and decidedly unscientific survey indicates that many people don't know."[Source: "Your (Lame) Slogan Here"]

"Authenticity over Exaggeration"

"In today's media-rich world, traditional advertising models are breaking down. Now, the consumer runs the show.
Successful advertising campaigns today are self-parodying and spark discussions rather than blatantly sell products."
